Winter in Phoenix so far

Hello everyone!
We hope the colder season has treated you well so far. According to some weather reports the east coast has had some warmer temps than we have had here in Phoenix. Temps have been down in the low 30's some nights, with a few frosts. We don't miss the shovelling though...
The fall and holiday season turned into a whirlwind of activities. We had quite an adjustment with Dave getting meds regulated and getting to know his needs, as they change weekly. He is doing well.
Some friends from Boston came to visit (YA!!!) and we had a great time. Went to the Japanese Gardens which were quite beautiful. And so many Koi!!!
Christmas brought us to Lake Havasu City for the annual "Parade of Lights". The city sports a "London Bridge" that was actually dismantled in London and shipped here and rebuilt. It crosses over a canal from the lake and this is where the parade was. Lots of boats of all kinds all decorated for the holiday!
We also went to the Botanical Gardens here in Phoenix for the annual Luminaries display. With 3-4 hundred thousand candles in bags, and many trees lit up with the tiny white lights (electric of course), and about 8 different groups playing music it was a magical evening!

We have been to a few museums, the Heard Museum being a wonderful experience. We had a whole afternoon to wander around all the Native American artifacts. Amazing stuff! Another museum we went to was out in Wickenburg, about 1 hour northwest of Phoenix. It is all western art, whether it is paintings, clothing, or saddles. Some of the art work on the saddle's were pretty cool. My horse never had anything so fancy!
Last weekend was the beginning of the Barrett-Jackson car auction. A free car show was happening down in the Scottsdale area so we headed down there for an afternoon of gawking at some wonderful cars and trucks.

Other stuff we have made time for has been some hiking in the local area. North Mountain and South Mountain Preserves have provided some great hikes close by.
Phoenix has alot of great stuff to offer, but it's a huge city and we are looking forward to the day when we can hit the road again!
Be well!
