How time flies!

Oh my, where has the time gone?  Life seems to be whizzing by!
We had a great Thanksgiving with all of John's family at his son, Ian's, in Manhattan, Kansas. Ian and Meagan were great hosts and having the family together was wonderful.

Last winter found us in southern Arizona. We visited Anna in Tucson a couple times. On a trip to Scottsdale we stopped at the Arizona Renaissance Fair location. Much to our shock we had jobs in 20 minutes!  We work 4 weekends at the fair, which was 3 too many. Experienced the festival life style and met a few interesting people.  The picture is the back drop to many hours of our labors.  Behind the "Dancing Pig Pub" is a 5,000 person Jousting Arena! The main stage for the fair, dutifully cleaned and swept by Scott and parties 3 times a day!!! Then the dust!!!

The truly enjoyable times were south of Maricopa, AZ at Sally's 141 Ranch. Visiting and meeting her friends and being visiting by some of our Lava friends.  We even have a permanent campsite there now, the Owls Roost!  Named for the western screech owl that lives in the saguaro cactus near.

We lived our summer 2016 back in Lava Hot Springs, ID among our wonderful friends and family.

The summer was the busiest most folks remember here in town. Meaning more people, more traffic, more head aches, more reunions, more acquaintances and more fun!
John had family visit in August. It turned into a gala weekend of feasting and music. Randy Granger did a house concert while they were here and had help from his friend, Joe Young and our local Tahra Waller.  Definitely, an evening remembered by all and the highlight of the summer for many!  Many thanks to Kathryn and Milan for hosting.  Thanks Randy, Joe and Tahra for creating a magical evening.

It is always a bitter, sweet time when the end of summer comes and we head off into the sunset towards northern Idaho and Oregon.  We will miss our friends and look forward to the excitement of new adventures.
